Welcome to our Term 2 Blog.

We have started the term with a class of new children. We have four children in our class at the moment but will have more friends starting school each week.

Here are the children in our class enjoying milk at the start of the day outside our room.

Sarah made this Rabbit Mask by reading the instructions in her book on her first day at school.

Ethan and Jax have become friends at school. They love using the cars and blocks on the road map.

We have started going to our new school library. We look at the books and choose some to take back to our room. We like reading in our class.

We think Jax is a good artist. Jax is painting a picture. We like to mix the colours and see how it turns out.

We were having fun drawing on the large whiteboard with markers. Ethan drew a picture of our Teacher Mrs Budge.

We have a game of Jack Straws in our room. Tyson is carefully lifting up a piece using the hook tool. It is a game like 'pick-up-sticks'.

We are learning to play some 'Old Style Games'.

Reading and Duffy Books

Rhylee and Riley collected our Duffy Books at the Duffy Assembly to take back to our class.

We got some great Duffy Books to read, take home and keep.

Our class love to read the books in our pick-boxes. They are books we know how to read ourselves.

Reading is very important in our classroom. We are all getting better at reading by ourselves.

More Foundation Skill Activities

Madison is blowing a feather from her hand and watching it fly away. How far will the feather go before it hits the ground?

Austin is having fun zooming around being a car using the plate as a steering wheel. He had to drive carfully so he didn't crash!

Dressing Up and Fundamental Skills.

 We had visits from Princesses.

We had superheros to protect us.

We also had other unusual strangers amongst our group. We had fun dressing up.

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. We are popping bubbles with our fingers. Look closely and see if you can find the bubbles. They are hiding.

We had a challenge to see if we could pass the balloon around our circle without letting out the air. We used our crab grip. We got it right around the circle. We are super-kids!!!

Balancing can be really hard with a partner. We took on the challenge and had success.

We went to see Rayz Roadshow. Ray is holding the monkey. The monkey bit Ray's hand. Ray was funny. We liked the Roadshow because we saw puppets and magic tricks.

We are dressed up as Book Characters. The dress-up day was for the Library to open. I liked the library because it has lots of books. Our class had our library time first. We read lots of books.

We are learning to use pastels to draw with. Our pictures are improving a lot. The pastels are sticky but make nice bright colours on our page.

This week we got new pastels. They were in a large box. We drew pictures of vehicles we ride in.

Water Fun Day

The Water Fight day was awesome. We had water pistols to wet everyone. The day was hot and sunny. We had FUN!!!
